Unemployment rises in the Canary Islands
Unemployment rises in the Canary Islands by almost 2,000 people during the month of October.
Youth unemployment stands at 52%.
Many young people have stopped looking for work and gone back to the classroom to further their education.

October sees unemployment figures rise in the islands. The number of unemployed people increased by 1,973 during the month. In total, there are more than 232,000 people in the islands without work. Year-on-year figures, on the other hand, show a positive trend. The Canary Islands are the second region in Spain, following the Balearic Islands, where the most employment has been created.
