In the former convent of Santo Domingo in La Laguna, there is currently an exhibition displaying 26 artists¿ interpretations of one of the Canary Islands¿ most curious botanical specimens: the Dragon tree

Legend has it that the dragon who guarded Las Hesperides Garden spilled its blood when dying and from there sprung the Dragon tree. This exhibition includes works from 26 artists who have captured their artistic vision of these ancient and significant trees in their photographs and paintings. The exhibition also serves to attract more attention to the conservation of many of these specimens which are on the point of extinction on the islands.
