Sculptures by the Guinean artist Fernando Nguema are brought to the Canary Islands. The unique pieces, blending tradition with modernity, are on show in the display rooms of Casa África, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It is the first exhibition of the sculptor, who was born in Equatorial Guinea.

The works by Fernando Nguema, who died in 2008, were sculpted on roots and, in the early days of his career, they were rejected by strangers. Now, experts assure that his modern style also encompasses the most unknown traditions of Africa.
