Less crime in the Canary Islands

During the first six months of the year, criminal offences have decreased by three points in the Canary Islands, placing them a point below the national average. Government delegate in the Canary Islands, Enrique Hernández Bento, stated that 42 crimes are committed for every 1,000 inhabitants on the island.

During Hispanic Day celebrations in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Government delegate in the Canary Islands Enrique Hernández stated that criminal offences have decreased by three per cent on the islands, during the first six months of the year. Crime rates in the Canary Islands stand at one point below the national average.
