World Tourism Day with record figures in Canary Islands
The Canary Islands has been the autonomous region of Spain that has grown most in terms of jobs created in tourism this summer, up 8.4 percent. Furthermore, almost four million people have travelled through Canary airports.

The Canary Islands have celebrated World Tourism Day with highly optimistic figures. After a year in which record figures were registered for inbound tourists, last August the Canary Islands was the autonomous community in which the highest amount of jobs were created in tourism, up 8.4%. The number of hotel overnight stays also increased by 7%.
