The Canary Islands in Rajoy's inaugural address
Rajoy commits to fulfil the Canarian agenda agreed upon with Coalición Canaria if he obtains the presidency. His defence of the Fiscal and Economic Regime of the Canary Islands (REF) and a special energy policy for the islands were also part of the speech.

In the speech, Mariano Rajoy mentioned Coalición Canarias several times. He thanked them for their support and their commitment to Spain's governance after two elections and eight months with an acting executive.
Afterwards, he spoke about the agreement with Canarian nationalists to indicate the importance of establishing a new basic energy model for the fight against climate change. Rajoy said that the energy pact established with Ciudadanos will have to take the Canary Islands and its particularities into account. He committed both to this and to defending the Fiscal and Economic Regime of the Canary Islands.
