Firemen from the city have gone down to the underground galleries to assess whether their conditions are related with the contamination of the El Confital beach.

The fire chief of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has affirmed that there is not currently any ventilation in the underground galleries of the area of El Confital due to the ends being blocked. For this reason, the Town Council suspects that this could be related with the high levels of enterococci detected in the sea of the area and which have led to the waters being closed off for bathing.
