Los Makemakes relevan a Conchita Wurst en Eurovisión

Eurovisión 2015 - Austria: The Makemakes - "I'm Yours"

La anfitriona de Eurovisión 2015, Austria, ya tiene representante y canción para esta edición del Festival. Los Makemakes tomarán el relevo de Conchita Wurst. La banda interpretará el tema I Am Yours (Soy tuyo) en la Gran Final de Viena, el 23 de mayo.

Los Makemakes se han impuesto en la final nacional, en la que han actuado un total de 6 participantes. El publico y un jurado internacional han elegido a los dos finalistas, que se han enfrentado en una última ronda. Es entonces cuando los espectadores han elegido a Los Makemakes, que se han impuesto a la banda de Indie- folk DAWA.

Tomaron su nombre de un país enano

Los Makemakes comenzaron su andadura musical el 1 de mayo de 2012. La banda de rock está formada por tres integrantes: el cantante Dodo, el bajista Max y Flo en la batería.

El nombre del grupo lo tomaron de un planeta enano, Makemake, que a su vez debe su nombre a una deidad de la isla de Pascua. Sólo un mes después de conformarse como banda, llegó su primer éxito: el single The Lovercall.

En 2013 fueron teloneros de Bon Jovi en Viena. Otro de sus éxitos llegó al año siguiente gracias al single Million Euro Smile, que tuvo una gran acogida. ¿Seguirá la racha este 2015 en Eurovisión?
