The Spanish public corporation also brings to the African content market the daily series Acacias 38 and Seis hermanas, as well as several TV movies

RTVE also wants to boost the distribution of its international channels in Africa

From November 4 to 6 RTVE will attend the TV content distribution market, DISCOP Africa, held in Johannesburg, to present its main new drama series and boost the distribution of its international channels in Africa.

In line with its internationalization policy, and in order to enter into new markets, RTVE will attend this great African market that brings together 2,000 senior executives from the major TV content distribution platforms in Africa.

RTVE will present its latest daily series (Seis Hermanas and Acacias 38) as well as large format drama series recently released, that have already achieved a great international impact, particularly Isabel, Carlos, Rey Emperador, and El Ministerio del Tiempo. It will also include in its product portfolio the latest TV movies, some of which will be released soon, such as La española inglesa, Teresa and Habitaciones cerradas, as well as the rest of the productions from its catalog.

At the same time, RTVE would like to take advantage of its participation at this market to give a further boost to the distribution of its international channels within the African continent. In this regard, it is worth mentioning the agreement recently signed by RTVE with United Business Machines (UBM EG) from Equatorial Guinea, for the distribution of the TVE Internacional and 24 Horas channels through the EG SAT platform both in Equatorial Guinea and in 5 other countries in Central and West Africa, which includes a population of almost 50 million people.

The RTVE commercial delegation will be headed by deputy directors of content sales and international Channel sales, Rafael Bardem and María Jesús Pérez respectively.

The next edition of the DISCOP Africa market will bring together some 2,000 senior executives of the main platforms of TV content distribution in Africa. Executives in charge of the areas of programming, acquisitions and co-productions of the major free-to-air TV networks, Pay-Tv companies, DTT platforms, Telcos, OTT's and mobile TV companies will also attend this grand event. DISCOP Africa aims to facilitate meetings between buyers and sellers, producers and opinion formers from the audiovisual sector in the African continent.
