Eurovision Song Contest is the biggest TV song competition and the most watched music tv show in Spain for the last 50 years. Music industry is changing quite rapidly, and there are many talents to discover beyond the big music labels. For this reason, this year RTVE.es gave young artists without any music business support the chance to participate in the process unfolded in RTVE to choose the Spanish entry for Eurovision Song Contest 2017

Eurovision Song Contest is the biggest TV song competition in Europe, and it has been the most watched music tv show in Spain for the last 50 years.

Music industry is changing quite rapidly, and nowadays we find a great amount of singers and artists on the internet. Youtube or Soundcloud are a good example of platforms where all sorts of artists can be found. Artists without a professional career or support and yet with an exceptional talent to share to the world.

This is the reason why RTVE.es came up with a system that would give all these unknown artists the chance to participate in the process that was set to choose the Spanish representative for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. This process was called THE EUROCASTING.

In just a month, around 400 artists sent their demos or home recordings to us. After the voting of the users and of those by a professional jury, three artists reached the GRAND FINAL of the Eurocasting and a live streaming web programme and eurofan bespoke music show was broadcast. Users and fans voted for their favorite artist with our RTVE Eurovision APP. Finally, Leklein was proclaimed as the winner of the Eurocasting, allowing her to take part in the Spanish Eurovision National Final where she performed for the first time in her career on prime time.
