The Costa Concordia dismantling operations are predicted to last two years. The cruise liner was made floating again on 14 July, 30 months after the cruise ship hit a reef and partly capsized off the island of Giglio on 13 January 2012 after being steered too close to the shore, seeing thirty-two of the 4,229 people onboard killed.
