Justin Coe welcomes to our studios Daniel Ligorio, a classical pianist from Barcelona who has just released a new album dedicated to the music of George Gershwin. "Rhapsody in Blue - Daniel Ligorio plays Gershwin" (released on Warner Classics) includes that famous work as well as the "Fantasy on Gershwin's Porgy and Bess" arranged by Earl Wild. It also includes a number of shorter works, including the hit song "I Got Rhythm," from the Gershwins' 1930 broadway musical "Girl Crazy." The program ends with the live version of "Rhapsody in Blue" that Daniel Ligorio played in studio 206 for the nation-wide audience of Radio Clásica just a few hours before he visited us (in studio 210).
