Jordan Anthony representará a Australia en el Festival de Eurovisión Junior 2019 con la canción "We will rise" (Nos levantaremos). La emisora pública australiana ABC eligió internamente al joven candidato, de 14 años.
Jordan Anthony ha coescrito "We will rise" con el dúo de MSquared Productions y es un canto de superación personal e invita a no tirar la toalla en las situaciones difíciles."Escribí esta canción para compartir un mensaje de esperanza. Cuando la gente escucha mis canciones, quiero que se relacionen y sepan que no están solas", declaró el joven.
Sobre Jordan Anthony
El joven, natural de Perth (Australia Occidental), es un apasionado de la música desde que tiene memoria. Escribió su primera canción con tan solo siete años y desde entonces, no ha dejado de desarrollar sus habilidades como compositor e incluso se animó a estudiar piano.
"La música para mí es la mejor forma de expresión. Cuando la gente escucha mis canciones, quiero que se relacionen y, estén felices o tristes, que sepan que no están solos", confesaba ante los medios.
Jordan alcanzó la fama en su país cuando se convirtió en el concursante más joven de "The Voice Australia" (en 2019). Durante su participación en la octava temporada del talent recibió elogios por parte de los jueces e incluso por Guy Sebastian (participante de Eurovisión en 2015), quien calificó su voz como "impresionante".
El director de Blink TV y jefe de delegación para Australia, Paul Clark, contó los motivos por los que Jordan les conquistó para elegirlo internamente: "Nos inspiró en "The Voice" y su talento nos impresionó. Esta es la oportunidad perfecta para llevar su música a un escenario internacional mucho más grande, donde representará a Australia por primera vez".
Australia en Eurovisión Junior
Australia participó por primera vez en Eurovisión Junior 2015 y desde entonces ha obtenido dos terceros puestos (Jael Wena con "Champion" e Isabella Clarke con "Speak Up!"), un quinto (Alexa Curtis con "We Are") y un octavo (Bella Paige con "My Girls"). ¿Será 2019 el año del triunfo australiano?
