The Department of Time wins a new award and triumphs on the international stage at the Gold Panda Awards (China)

The TVE series The Department of Time has won another international award. Marc Vigil scooped the prize for best television series director at the Gold Panda Awards. The decision was revealed on Saturday, in the framework of the Sichuan International TV Festival in China, held from 6 to 8 November.

The Department of Time, directed by Marc Vigil and starring Rodolfo Sancho, Aura Garrido and Nacho Fresneda, has won various awards since it first aired in February on TVE. The drama, created by Pablo and Javier Olivares (Cliffhanger) and produced by TVE in collaboration with Onza Partners, was recognized with the Ondas Award for best Spanish series of the year, and with the Critics’ Award at the Vitoria FesTVal for best Drama 2015. It also received the ALMA Award for the best script, given by the screenwriters union, and it won the Twitter Award at the Murcia FesTVal. Furthermore, it has been nominated three times in the MIM Awards, which will take place on 30 November, for the best drama, the best script and the best drama actor (Rodolfo Sancho).

The series is returning for a second season with 13 episodes in which the most well-travelled patrol on television will pass through the doors of time to resolve new errors that could change the course of our History. El Cid, Cervantes and Napoleon will be some of the great historic figures that the patrol will meet on its travels. Hugo Silva and Sergio Peris-Mencheta are some of the new cast members.

Prim, the murder on Turk Street also featured at the Gold Panda Awards with Sergio Delgado winning the award for best cinematography in the TV movies or miniseries category. Established in 1991, the Sichuan TV Festival, which takes place every two years, is the leading international content and awards market in Asia. Throughout its more than twenty years of existence, it has welcomed the participation of companies, associations and cultural representatives from all over the world, and, as such, has become one of the best renowned television festivals and one of the most effective platforms for accessing television and the marketing of cinema in the Asian market.
