Judicial circuit professionals denounce lack of resources for eliminating "ground clauses" in Extremadura
Representatives of the trade unions CSIF, STAJ, CC.OO and UGT have been assembling at the doors of Mérida's Law Courts to demand the creation of a court exclusively devoted to dealing with mortgage ground clauses. They claim that having only one court per province will lead to bottlenecks, and that in the end "the only winners are the banks".
The trade unions indicate that "the Mérida court alone has received over 100 ground clause cases since 1 June". They state that this workload means that cases are "already dead" when they reach the courts. Their criticism centres on the lack of personnel and of a dedicated body. In their opinion, "The only goal of the central government is to benefit the banks."
