Flamenco series: pogram 4

The tonás are considered among the oldest of the flamenco cante or song.  Unaccompanied by guitar, the tonás provide a stark expression of the hardships suffered by a persecuted minority.  In this installment we hear cantes sung by Rafael Romero,  Tomás Pavón, Juan Talega, Antonio Mairena, El Diamante Negro, La Perla de Cádiz, and Manuel el Agujeta.
