In this week's edition of "North By Southwest" Nicolas Jackson visits the exhibition Treasure Island: British Art from Holbein to Hockney at Madrid's prestigous Juan March Foundation. The exhibition celebrates 500 years of British Art from the devasting impact of Reformation inconoclasts to the artists of the Swinging Sixties and the rise of Thatcherism; 500 years of visual arts in just 500 square metres. Manuel Fontán del Junco, Director of Exhibitions at the Juan March Foundation, and curator Richard Humphreys guide us through the works on display and the rationale behind them. We discover some of the little known treasures of Britain, often considered one of Europe's more discreet and conservative visual arts nations (03/12/12).
