Rock andaluz

In the 1970's many rock musicians from Spain's southern region of Andalusia found inspiration in the "progressive" or psychedelic rock of such groups as Procol Harum, Pink Floyd, and King Crimson. So, the synthesizers, long electric guitar solos and winding endless riffs were included, as were the strains of Spain's own flamenco tradition. In today's program we play music by Triana, Alameda, Medina Azahara and El Barrio.
