Justin Coe talks to Catalan pianist José Menor, who lives in London but has just been back in Spain on tour performing Beethoven's piano sonatas.  José Menor began serious study of the piano at an early age and had his international debut at Carnegie Hall when he was 15 years old.  That was after winning first prize for young artists at the Cincinnati World Piano Competition.  After winning another first prize at a competition closer to home, José Menor made his debut at Barcelona's venerable Palau de la Música Catalana in 1996.  Since then he has performed around the world, accompanied by chamber and symphony orchestras as well as in solo recitals.  Among other things, José Menor is the first to have recorded the complete works for solo piano of contemporary Catalan composer Joan Guinjoan (b. 1931).  For more information on this talented pianist, visit his trilingual website at www.josemenor.net .
