English Language Broadcast   Guitar on the Camino II: Musicians on the Way of Saint James 23/09/2015 32:29

Moratinos is a small village in Castilla-León, where pilgrims on the Way of St. James and others stop.  Thanks to the efforts of American guitarmaker, Frederic Sheppard, there is music on the Camino.  He has organized a series of concerts of classical guitar held in the small and often ancient churches along the route.  In today's program guitarist Matthew McCallister and his wife flautist Aisling Agnew talk about their experience on the Way and the concerts they've given there.  We also hear from American student Ian Tuskey, who is also taking part in this musical adventure.  The program ends with transcriptions for guitar of Scarlatti sonatas, played by John Williams. Scarlatti spent the last twenty five years of his life in Spain, where he wrote the sonatas.
