Concert dedicated in tribute to José Luis Pérez de Arteaga

Spanish conductor Pablo Heras-Casado dedicated the concert he and the Balthasar-Neumann-Chor-Und-Ensemble gave in Madrid this past Sunday, February 12th to the memory of the well-known and respected Spanish critic, musicologist and broadcaster José Luis Pérez de Arteaga, who passed away last week at the age of 66.  It was a concert of music by Claudio Monteverdi, but the performance's encore was a piece by Hieronymus Praetorius, a German contemporary of Monteverdi.  Today we listen to Magnificats and motets by three German composers with this surname from the album "Praetorius" which Heras-Casado and the Balthasar-Neumann-Chor-Und-Ensemble released in 2015 on Deutsche Grammophon's Archiv Produktion label.
