After the news we talk with Charlotte Kates, an American social justice activist now based in Beruit, Lebanon. She is currently the coordinator of Samidoun, the Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network and the International Committee of the National Lawyer's Guild of the United States. Ms. Kates spoke about some of the connections between Palestinian activists in Gaza and demonstrators in Ferguson Missouri, in the US, where the police killing of an unarmed African American teenager prompted weeks of protests. She also spoke of the campaign for Khalida Jarra, the Palestinian politican who received an expulsion order from the Israeli authorities. That's followed by the music of 19th-century Spanish composer Matías de Jorge Rubio, with Pedro Chamorro performing two pieces written for the bandurria, a sort of Spanish mandolin.
