English language broadcast - 16/09/14

 After the newscast Alison Hughes brings you the music of one of Spain's great 16th-century composers, Cristóbal de Morales.  The 16th century is the period when Spanish music, especially religious polyphony, is considered to have reached its peak, both in spiritual intensity and musical achievement.  Then comes "North by Southwest," in which we join Spanish-Iranian poet Patricia Rezai for a tour of Madrid's famous Rastro street market, held every Sunday in the La Latina district of the capital.
