Hoy escuchamos al tercer grupo checo, previo al festival propiamente dicho:

Zuzana Lapčíková - zpěv, cimbál

Emil Viklický - klavír

Josef Fečo - kontrabas

El programa de mano en inglés, decía:

"A creative synthesis of folk and jazz elements with jazz and classical music inspired by Janáček’s approach to Moravian folklore. These three virtuosos usually don’t perform together and have joined forces jist for this concert. However, in the past they met in different ensembles, for example, Lapčíková and Viklický in a band called Ad lib Moravia (from 1993) or Josef Fečo in Viklický’s jazz ensemble or in Lapčíková‘s folklore group.

Josef Fečo was born in Prague to a Romany musical family. He has learned to play the guitar, violin and cimbalom and is also a composer and arranger. He studied double bass and bass guitar playing at Jaroslav Ježek Conservatoire.

His inventive playing has enriched many jazz ensembles, such as the Karel Růžička Trio, and folk music groups, such as the Zuzana Lapčíková Quintet. He also excels at playing funk, soul and pop.

Zuzana Lapčíková comes from Moravian Slovakia. She studied cimbalom playing at Brno Conservatoire. She has played and recorded with many Moravian cimbalom bands, the Brno Folk Instruments Radio Orchestra and different chamber ensembles and orchestras (the Prague Philharmonia, Virtuosi di Praga, the Brno Philharmonic, the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic, the Moravian Philharmonic, the Hradec Králové Philharmonic, the Tallich Chamber Orchestra). She has also pursued folk dancing and choreography. Since 2007 she has been performing with her own quintet. She has written a range of compositions, such as the oratorio Orbis pictus (2012) with Jan Amos Komenský’s texts or Alžběta and Salomena (2014).

Emil Viklický comes from Olomouc. He studied mathematics but he has played the piano since he was a child. In 1974-1988 he played with a leading Czech jazz group, Karel Velebný’s SHQ, and in 1977-1978 he studied composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. It was on his very first solo album, V Holomóci městě (1977), that he combined the standard jazz playing with Moravian music influences. Later on, he collaborated with Jiří Pavlica, Zuzana Lapčíková, Iva Bittová and other ethnically focused artists. He leads his own jazz ensembles, such as the Grand Moravia Trio. He is also a successful composer of classical music and film scores.
